- What’s that lesson that Driver’s ED taught?
- “Before driving, always check the…”
- Screw it! Shift gears already and run free!
- But life is inhibited by wallets.
- Gas to and back from Atlanta
- Would cost me sixty-eight dollars.
- Whatever, go race within Gainesville then!
- Above the speed limit, I am free from rules.
- But my guilt constrains me 10 mph within.
- Sometimes, I miss intersections and exits,
- Detours needed to get back on track,
- Every minute wasted in my 2012 Corolla
- Burdens my whole ride,
- Like how I self-blame every time
- Someone honks at me.
- Forget about it.
- Red lights give me rest,
- But rest is short-lived.
- Next up: yellow light,
- My cue to step harder on the gas pedal—
- Tricked by my mind again that I’m in hurry.
- A green light means I don’t have to stop,
- Swerve off the bridge!
- Forget it, I’ll take the bus instead.
